“The swiftest way to triple your success is to double your investment in personal development.” — Robin Sharma

When I was starting the Amal journey, I was thinking it was a long road to go. I felt that it’s extremely difficult for me to make up for the last session because I was someone who used to be very inconsistent and for me sticking to a thing was a serious challenge.

But I remembered that I made a promise to myself that I will try my best to do as much as I can and will try to do the entire course. Guess what? Here I am. I did it. I was able to complete the course. It was a beautiful journey. A really transforming experience. I am happy for the growth I was able to achieve and sad that this journey ended but every ending is a new beginning to something and that’s how life goes on. We have to embrace the cycles of life.

Talking about the last session it was about everyone discussing their feelings and learnings from the session. I was amazed while listening to the stories of my fellows. I was so glad to hear about them overcoming their fears. It made me remember the initial sessions where all of us were a bit confused and shy. Trying to adjust within the batch until days passed by and time beautifully molded us all into a family that’s supporting, accepting, and encouraging.

I felt connected to everyone that was around me because I grew with them all. I felt connected because we all went through our weaknesses and worked on them together. I felt connected because we all celebrated our strengths together. I felt connected because we interacted and worked as a team that has a common goal to get out of the comfort zone, facing our fears, and pushing ourselves harder to live a life that has a purpose. I felt connected because I was able to relate with all of my fellows in some way or the other.

I have always preferred bonds. I am a supporter of human connection. I think emotional connectivity is the essence of our relationships. I mean just imagine a life without emotions, Is it even a life?

I am planning to stay in touch with my Amal family via WhatsApp group, linked in, and other social media websites we connected on. I am using my learnings from fellowship while communicating with others, when I discuss the ideas from our courses I feel so good because in this way I am not only able to reflect and recall what I learned alongside I am also able to share the valuable information with my peer group. I believe in sharing knowledge and the benefit of it I have been seeing is that listening to my fellowship journey lots of my friends are looking forward to doing it themselves. I will also be applying my learning from this program in my future job and my everyday life because this fellowship was based on real-life scenarios and situations which made generalizability easier. Looking forward to becoming a lifelong learner.

“One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.” — Abraham Maslow
